1. We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of all humanity, and the Divine, the only, and absolute authority for all Christian faith and life. (Psalm 119; Matthew 5:17-18; Matthew 24:2, 35; Luke 4:4; John 10:35; Acts 1:16; Acts 3:18; Romans 1:16; Romans 10:17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
2. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Isaiah 40:28; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John 1:1-3; Acts 1:5; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God the Father, He now is our High Priest and Advocate. (Isaiah 53; Matthew 1:18-21; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-18; John 3:16-19; John 4:42; Acts 4:12; Galatians 1:6-9; Ephesians 1:20-21; Philippians 2:8-11; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 4:14-15)
4. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict humankind, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service, to love others as Christ first loved us. (Matthew 3:16; Luke 4:1, 18-19; John 3:6-8; John 7:37-39; John 13:34-35, John 14:16-17; John 15; 26-27; John 16:8-15; Acts, 1:5, 8; Acts 4:31; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:3-31; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Thessalonians 5:19; 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 John 4:19)
5. We believe that humankind was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only by grace through faith in Jesus as one’s Savior and Lord can a person be saved and regenerated towards Christlikeness through the gift that is the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; John 3:3-6; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 3:10, 23; Romans 5:12-17; Romans 6:23, Ephesians, 2:8, 2 Thessalonians 2:13)
6. We believe that the blood (the death) of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ, are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; John 3:3-6; Romans 3:21-26; Romans 5:9; Romans 8:16; 1 Corinthians 15:17-22; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Peter 3:21)7. We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age as symbolic manifestations of our salvation in Christ to then enter into communion with Him and with fellow believers. In such, they are not to be regarded as means of salvation. (Matthew 3:13-15; Matthew 26:26-28; Luke 22:14-20; Acts 8:34-39; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34; Ephesians 2:8-9)
8. We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. (1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:1-16; Ephesians 5:23, 29)
9. We believe that though the role of the Holy Spirit in His fullness was not revealed in the Old Testament in the same way it was revealed in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Genesis 1:2; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 6:3; Numbers 27:18; Judges 3:10; Isaiah 61:1-2; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 4:1; Luke 1:35; Luke 4:18-19; John 16:8-11; Acts 2:1-4; Romans 8:11)
10. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation by grace through faith in His person and work. We also understand that there must be a conscious choice made to accept Christ by each individual which will result in transformation of that individual’s life from worldly ways. Our actions, especially in how we treat others, reveal our heart; whether we have truly accepted Christ as Savior and whether we truly love Him. In this, it is Jesus who will complete the good work He started in us (Gal. 2:15-17; Luke 13:1-8; James 2:24 Philippians 1:6).
11. We believe in the importance of unity in the Universal Church, and therefore, that every local church has both the need and responsibility of accountability and encouragement to other churches, while also maintaining responsibility, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs. 6 (1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 1:15-23; Ephesians 4:1-16; Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:15-18)
12. We believe that it is the duty of all Christians to congregate regularly in the local church context for the purpose of both corporate and individual maturity in Christ, through active participation and commitment to the local church towards establishing the Kingdom of God here on earth as it is in heaven. (John 13:34-35; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 4:32-35; 1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:1-16; Philippians 4:14; Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 10:24-25)
13. We believe in the imminent coming of the glorified Lord Jesus Christ to consummate His Kingdom and that this hope has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (Matthew 28: 18-20; Mark 13:10; Mark 14:62; Acts, 1:8-11; Philippians 3:12-14; Hebrews 9:28; Hebrews 12:1-3; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1-5)
14. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead: of the believer to eternal communion with the Lord, of the unbeliever to eternal separation from the Lord. (Matthew 25:46; 1 Corinthians 15: 35-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 10:26-31; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:1-5) -
